Exploring Hidden Gems in Sydney
Being a cosmopolitan city, Sydney is a well-known tourist destination and every year, millions of people across the globe flock to the NSW capital to see what it can offer. However, since Sydney is a popular holiday spot, many of its well-known attractions are often teeming with both foreign and local tourists.
Fortunately, there are attractions in the city that are as beautiful as its popular tourist destinations, but not as crowded. In this article, let's explore Sydney's hidden gems and best-kept secrets.
Bronte Beach
When it comes to beaches, most people flock to Bondi or Tamarama Beach. What most of them don't know is that there's another beautiful beach with lots of open space they can frolic around. Bronte Beach is considered by many locals as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The weather is great all throughout the year and it's only a 15 minutes' drive away from the heart of the city. More importantly, it is less crowded than most beaches in Sydney because only a few people know about it.
Harbour Bridge Pylon
Most tourists would want to climb the Harbour Bridge and for good reason. With the spectacular views it offers, you certainly won't be able to resist going on top of the Harbour Bridge. But if you want to avoid the crowds and the $200 fee per climb, you can enjoy a similar view from the bridge's pylon instead. It is less crowded, plus the fee is only $11.
Fairy Bower Pool
Despite being around since 1929, the Fairy Bower Pool has remained as one of Sydney's best kept secrets. It is basically a triangular shaped pool that looks stunning both during the day and night. It is located in Manly and it is child-friendly, too. There are three sculptures on the edge of the pool known as "The Sea Nymphs" or "The Oceanides." A visit in this place is certainly a must when you're in Sydney.
Milk Beach
Here's another unexplored beach you might want to check out in Sydney. Located in Vaucluse, Milk Beach is a little flat water cover that is perfect for a relaxing swim. What's more, the place looks over much of Sydney, including the harbour. Featuring white sand and aquamarine water, this small but gorgeous beach will certainly take your breath away. Also, it's not that far from Bondi Beach.
Sydney offers very incredible nature views that are only accessible by foot. As such, be sure to head over to Sydney Harbour National Park or the Royal National Park for guided coastal walking tours. There, you'll see dozens of native plants and animals and Aboriginal sites. Want a better idea? Why don't you doing a coastal tour aboard a segway so you can enjoy these natural views without tiring yourself out?
